INSET DAY

An INSET (In-Service Education and Training) day is a day when teachers attend school for professional development, training and administrative tasks.  Pupils do not attend school.  Schools typically have five INSET days per academic year to ensure high standards, allow staff to plan, and complete necessary tasks. These days are essential for the ongoing learning and development of teaching staff and are a legal requirement in the UK.
